Co-work Co-win Training Centre Limited, which was established by one of GB PEI’s clients, successfully hosted a grand opening for the social enterprise. It generated a lot of buzz in Summerside last Friday. The Mayor of Summerside, a Member of the Legislative Assembly, and other representatives from the city, community organizations and chambers of commerce, as well as about 50 guests attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The client’s dedication to launching the business with such vitality and care will remind people of the quote by American business CEO Thomas Watson Sr., “To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business and your business in your heart.” This sentiment also corresponds with Co-work Co-win Training Centre Limited’s mandate to provide pre-employment skills training and job placement services to youth, people with disabilities or special needs, and individuals experiencing challenges finding employment. The business will also offer a flexible co-working office space and a rental event space.
The festive atmosphere of the ceremony encouraged by the client, the family and the employee enticed people to stay afterwards, enjoying the refreshments, making new friends and building community.
